Virginia is a state that is growing by leaps and bounds. It’s no longer thought of as a state with a back woods connotation in mind. The Commonwealth of Virginia is in a way a blend of the old and new Virginia and that makes it a place to live and work that’s nice to be in. Reasons For Virginia’s Growth The further north you travel in Virginia the more likely it is that you’ll forget that you are in a southern state. This growth really caught on after 911 when business moved from up north closer to resort towns like Virginia Beach and southwards. If you want to live in a state with lots of educational opportunities, than Virginia is the state. Due to population growth it has large schools with many of them being new in construction. The Virginia Department of Education does a very good job, and the state is rated as one of the tops in rigorous standards for testing high school graduates. Their schools aren’t in the colonial Virginia style anymore. The Virginia lottery supports public education with millions each year. Government Of Virginia The facets of the government in Virginia run smoothly from its Virginia courts, Virginia Employment Commission, to the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles. The Virginia state police have a hard job to do, but do it well with Virginia’s roadways to protect, and the growing population to guard. Old Thomas Jefferson wouldn’t recognize the ole home state he left behind on the Virginia map. Ben Franklin, Jefferson’s political comrade in arms against the British, wouldn’t understand it either with the proliferation of Virginia newspapers, but he would love to have seen it happen. Virginia is a state that’s happening, there’s just no doubt about it.
