New York
Some people really lover New York (NY) and some people really hate it. Other people both love and hate it at the same time. There are some reasons to love it, such as it is a state that is full of history and culture. Some people love New York City for its diverse cuisine, entertainment, and architecture. Many people also love the opportunities that New York has to offers, such as a large number of nurse jobs and chances to invest in the stock market. One of the things that people cannot stand about New York (NY) is usually the odor of the City. Downtown Manhattan is often inundated by litter and paper all over the streets. If you can get past that smell though, you can enjoy so much of what New York has to offer. Even though the Twin Towers are no longer there you can still enjoy Downtown Manhattan. There is a Native American museum close to the ferry terminal, and you can even sit in on a live David Letterman Show if you would like. You also have the opportunity to watch an old silent movie if you would like. (You may need to check if it is still running, which is probably is.) If you enjoy riding on a train, you may prefer to travel by subway. It is quite an experience to start out in downtown Manhattan and then all of the sudden you get out uptown, say around 92nd street. New York is not just Manhattan, however. It is also the beaches on Long Island and Staten Island, and the natural history museum in Brooklyn. You can also walk through botanical gardens in Queens if you like. If you travel upstate (north) you can spend some time hiking in the Catskills mountains (but you didn’t even know there were mountains in New York (NY), did you?). Some of the other beautiful places of New York include Albany, and Syracuse. Albany is the capital of New York, and Syracuse is a famous college town. If you want to keep up with some of the latest developments in both upstate New York and New York City (including Manhattan) you can read the New York Times. This is where quite a few people get their news from all over the world as a matter of fact. New York Sports Most everyone probably knows this, but New York is famous for both the New York Jets and the New York Giants, two NFL football teams. The other sports teams that New York is noted for are the New York Yankees and the New York Mets, which are two major league baseball teams. The New York Knicks are a professional Basketball team from this state. New York Art And Culture The city of Manhattan is divided up into a few different neighborhoods. These represent different cultures and different cuisines. For example, there is Soho, which is representative of the country of Japan, and Chinatown, which is representative of China and the orient. Little Italy is another one that of course is representative of everything Italian, and then there is Greenwich Village. Greenwich Village is typically known as “the Village”, and is the place where painters, drawers, artists, musicians, poets, dancers, and other artists hang out. In fact, the Village has their own parade every year, which is fairly large. Then, of course there is the Macy’s Parade which travels every Thanksgiving Day right down Fifth Avenue, which is one of the classiest business sections of Manhattan.
