Dallas
Dallas is the third largest city in the state of Texas. This Texan city is known for its advancements in computer technology, telecommunications, and transportation. This city is also known for its role in petroleum production and is also know as one of the United State’s prime banking and finances district. Furthermore, in times past Dallas was known to be one of the leading producers of cotton. The Significance Of Dallas, Texas Dallas is home to many things. For example, it is known for the Dallas Cowboys (technically represented in the nearby town of Irving), the Dallas Museum of Art, and the Cotton Bowl. Numerous other sports teams besides the Cowboys have played in the Dallas area as well. Some of these teams include the NBA Dallas Mavericks team (basketball), and the NHL Dallas Stars team (hockey). Dallas Geography And Tourism This entire city is consistently flat for the most part. This city still has its share of notable attractions, however. One of the most well-known is White Rock Late, a very highly populated resort, and another is the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens. The weather in the city of Dallas is usually fairly warm to hot (subtropical climate). However, this city sometimes receives dry winds from both the northern and western parts of Texas in the summer and cold fronts in the winter from the north. When the cool air of Canada mixes with the warm air from the Gulf of Mexico, sometimes the state of Texas (including Dallas) sometimes receives showers of rain or hail. Once in awhile this area will be confronted by a tornado touchdown. The last one that did any significant amount of damage in this area was the one that hit in the vicinity of Greensville Avenue and Lovers Lane. Miscellaneous Info About Dallas Dallas has one daily newspaper, called the Dallas Morning News. This paper is one source of information for those who are moving or living in this city. Several Television broadcasting stations also air in this location. People who visit the Dallas area (and people who live in this area) are able to find some unique gifts for the sports’ fans in their lives. For instance, a gift that would make quite the statement in a football sports’ fan’s life would be the purchase and installation of wallpaper that has the Dallas Cowboy logo printed on it. People who are contemplating relocating to this Texan city have quite a bit of educational opportunities to take advantage of. Universities and community colleges in the area serve the adult learner, and different public and private elementary schools serve the child who is still growing and developing.
