Italy of course has Rome and Florence, but there’s more than meets the eye. Its climate is a Mediterranean of sunshine and a little rain, and this makes it a great vacation spot. The Italian flag in design isn’t all that old because it wasn’t formalized until the late 1800s for the Italy flag. You might not realize that it is based on the design of Napoleon the Great from France. The Roman Empire helped build the country, and its affects are still seen today in the old Roman roads and aqueducts.

Italian Foods:

A fact on Italy is that the country loves food. The more food the better seems to be their language, besides the Italian language. If you want to learn some good Italian recipes then learn Italian, and eat until you bust. The Italian culture loves pasta and more pasta with a little green, and wines thrown in for digestion. Great spaghetti, breads, pizza, and breads of sweets will put on a few pounds, you’ll need to loose. Their greens are asparagus deep fried, and they love a good tomato for Italian food.

Unique Christmas Tradition:

Christmas in Italy is a neat experience. On an Italy map the traditions are widespread. In the Italian dictionary you’ll find Zampognari, or the hill people who played the bagpipes. Long ago they used to play them in the cities, but it stopped for a few years. If you’re in almost any city today during the holidays, there’s a nice revival of the tradition, and you’ll hear them playing the Italian music again. Of course there are the big meals and religious services for mass on Christmas day. Family and friends celebrate with each other, and delicious wines are waiting to be drunk. A popular dish is eel and fish that they devour in the holidays. A manger scene is in Italian home everywhere.
