France is a historic city, and if you want to go there for a vacation then find out what all it has too offer you in this Mediterranean country. There’s more in France than just the Eiffel Tower and the city lights. France is a dream vacation for relaxation, so read on to learn more about what you’re missing, if you don’t go to France. French History: France does have a French maid or two, but its history is much more interesting. The French Revolution in the late 1700s happen because the people took a few things into their own hands. They were tired of not having enough to eat, or a decent place to live, so they revolted against the political elite, and the social class system. In the revolution of France it went from a monarchy to statehood. France, a few years before the revolution was involved in US issues with Britain over land, in the French and Indian War. Before heading out to just any French beach resort, make sure that you know what type of bathing is allowed. Many of the best French Rivera beaches allow topless or totally nude sun bathing. French Food: French food is as varied as where you spend stay. On street corners you can get the fare of hamburgers and French fries, or even a slice of pizza. If you’re in the bed and breakfasts then local homemade cuisine will likely be the meal. Some of the best foods are from the fine dining establishments of 5 star restaurants with top French chiefs. Of course these types of restaurants are much more expensive, so be prepared to shell out some dollars for them. Christmas Celebrations: Christmas in France is different than in other European countries. Most Frenchmen don’t have a Christmas tree. Scenes of the nativity are central to their decorating theme. Most Catholics on Christmas Day will have their celebratory meal for Christmas after their midnight mass to bring in Christmas Day. Different areas of France will serve different things on the table. Before heading out to France on an Air France plane, make sure to grab a French dictionary. You wouldn’t want to get caught answering yes under a French flag to French kiss with out having a French English dictionary handy. The French are wonderful passionate people, but if you’re not ready for a deep relationship with French kissing you need to know how to say no, but yes to returning to France again for a visit.
