Europe
Europe isn’t what it used to be, and if you’re going to be traveling to Europe then it will help to know a little more about it. Read on to learn how and why Europe has changed over the years, and a few ways to get there. Brief History of Europe: If you compare a map of Europe from the 1500s to today’s map it’s be hard to recognize. Not only have the names changed, but the boundaries with them have changed because the political map of Europe has changed, even in the last fifty years. Once the maps of Europe had kingdoms written on them, and were ruled by monarchs. Some of them were the kingdoms of Scotland, or the Duchy of Lithuania. The old kingdoms of Europe have gradually faded away, and now are for the most part replaced with independent sovereign states of European countries on the European map. When you think of Europe it’s easy to see it as only Western Europe which includes some countries like Greece, Rome, and England. There is Eastern Europe of which some countries are Romania, Bosnia, and Yugoslavia. At one time they were ruled over by monarchies too. One reason the map has been redrawn and is constantly changing is that of the European Union. It was started in 1992 and is a group of nations that was set up to stop nations from conflict, and has grown into a unit that helps with world hunger, poverty, and negotiation among its nations with other nations that aren’t part of the union. It has other interests too, like the world economy. It presence has certainly changed Europe’s maps. Interesting Facts: Some facts about Europe might be of interest before you travel on European cruises or cheap flights to Europe. Europe is divided only by the Ural Mountains, and its population is only the third largest in the world. It has a very small land mass compared to other countries, on a Europe map. Also, the Anartic is the only European destination that doesn’t have any countries on it. The land mass of the cultures of the European has been felt far and wide all over the world. From medical discoveries to inventions their influence has been integrated into countries outside of Europe for centuries. A trip around any part of Europe whether in the east or west is a trip to remember. You can get there easily on a ship or fly into any major port of call on an airplane. It might be hard to decide where to go when looking at European maps, but you can always travel once and then use Europe maps to go plot a new travel experience.
