San Francisco
San Francisco is one of the largest cities of California, and more people live in this city per square mile than any other U.S. city. This particular city has quite an extensive history, and is known for quite a few reasons. Where San Francisco Is Located This particular city is located on the tip of the San Francisco Peninsula, and is a very significant part of the San Francisco Bay area. San Francisco Earthquake 1906 This earthquake reached a moment magnitude of 8.3 and left hundreds of thousands of people homeless, and had caused up to at least 3,000 deaths. (The exact death toll figure from this earthquake is not officially known and/or reported.) Shaking was felt by this earthquake all the way from Oregon to Los Angeles, and people in Nevada felt it too. The San Andreas Fault was ruptured during this earthquake for about 296 miles. The city was quickly rebuilt after this disaster and is on the lookout for the possibility of another one. Most people in California are on the lookout for an earthquake, and this 1906 memory is one of the reasons why. San Francisco 49ers The 49ers are one of the longest-standing teams that this city is home to. This team began playing in the year 1946, and has later moved to Monster Park located in Candlestick Point (1971). They have won the Super Bowl five times since their establishment as a team. Stars that played for this team over the years include Joe Montana, Steve Young, and Jerry Rice.
